New England Lemon Poppy-Seed Bread

Description
Delicious for a ladies' tea!
Ingredients
- 1⁄3 c butter
- 1 c sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 c flour
- 2 t baking powder
- 1⁄2 c milk
- 1 t lemon extract
- 1 t lemon peel
- 2 T poppy seed
Instructions
Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs. Mix dry ingredients and add, alternating with milk. Stir in extract, peel, and poppy seed. Bake in a lightly greased bread tin at 350 deg. (preheated) for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean.
