DH got his deployment orders

Submitted by jamielea on Mon, 11/15/2004 - 1:40pm
He's leaving December 15th for Oklahoma city, then on to El Paso for a couple weeks then he'll be going to Afghanistan for 12-18 months. I'm still numb and in a bit of shock, it doesn't feel real. Those who do say a prayer for us and for all the other family's separated from there loved ones.

Love and hugs from me, too.
Lots of warm thoughts, love, and empathy for you
Here's another crazy woman lining up to help you along!
I know you're already active with your FRG, and I'm sure you've read all of the AFTB-esque literature on "getting through the deployment."
Those little nuggets of wisdom like "have a self-improvement project to work on" and "take your vitamins" seem trite and ridiculous in the abstract. BUT in the reality of a deployment, those ideas are really quite valid and useful.

Thank you all
Anne, I think DH will be in El Paso at Christmas, just not sure yet. Santa Clause is coming early for us, maybe around the 12th. We told Trey that he called and said sense Daddy had to go overseas that he'd come on a special day for us.
If DH is still in El Paso at Christmas we'll defiantly be there. Thanks for your offer of help
You girls don't know what it means that I have you all, Thank you.
good idea re Santa
I'll be thinking of you Jamie, and praying for your DH to have a safe tour.
(((Hugs))) Jamilea!
Do you have family near you? Or other military wives in the same situation? Somebody who understands?
We'll keep looking forward to the "coming home" date. Just think, 12-18 months from now, you'll be shouting HOO-AH! in your posts, just like Karin. Sure hope y'all get to spend Christmas together.
Love and prayers from me.

Thoughts of you will be with me and my family - When my hubby was in the Marine Corps he was never gone for that long, but any length of time is too long. I will pray that he stays safe.
