good grief

it's only Wednesday... I can't think all the way ahead to tomorrow's dinner!! I'm thinking something with rice. And it definitely won't be turkey or troublesome.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you... enjoy your dinners, whatever's on offer, and I look forward to reading menus and stealing ideas for veg. Smiling

Kerri.

Can't wait!--also updated

We'll also be having dinner for 11.

(I had to copy Lenora)
Here's what I'm supplying:
Triple Berry Cranberry Sauce (made 2 days early)
Turkey (brining as we speak)
Gravy
Garlic Mash Pots
Sweet Potato with Pecan/Br. Sugar topping (in oven)
Peas and Lima Beans w/ Rosemary
Scalloped Greens (Collard and Turnip) (in oven)
Dressing
Pumpkin Pies (baked and in fridge)

My friend is bringing wine and another dessert, and her MIL is bringing 2 appetizers. (Though I picked up some cheese and nuts just in case.) Yes, I want everything the way I want it, so I am cooking it all!

I'm hoping to prep the Sweet Pots., the greens, and the pies today, and possibly chop the veg. for the dressing too.

DD7 has written a play for the kids to perform -- it involves a turkey who fights back and demands a temple with a golden statue. Which prompts my daughter to deliver the line, "We should indeed worship the turkey, and the Lord."

Enjoy the turkey worship!

Have a good Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it.

I plan to make a pumpkin pie in sympathy!

All Done!

...including the after dinner nap! Eye-wink

the turkey carcass is boiled (with some veges) and already in the frige and DDDDDDH has handled most of the dishes!

We had a lovely meal (1:30 pm) and a nice afternoon.
I'm missing my MIL, but am greatly aware and truly thankful for the blessings of family, friends (including YOU), good health, and home.

It's been a good day.
Love to all,
Lenora
