Wow, one month down already!

Wow, one month down already! Can you believe it!??

Linda, sometimes living in the camper doesn't sound so bad. Alone. LOL! Once all the kids and hubby get in there, it's a mess again. LOL!

Yesterday I managed to complete 4 loads of laundry. Still have one to fold, but I did fold one that had been in the dryer for a few days, so that still counts (socks. I hate matching all those socks!). Also managed to pull the house back together, so it doesn't look so bad today.

Decided not to go to that funeral today. It was going to be really packed and didn't really relish the idea of going to town twice (would have to come back to get the kids, then back to town for DS6 basketball game). But we will go right after school (they are doing basketball pictures first). Dinner is going to be take out pizza. Been a few months since we had that.

Otherwise, mainly doing some desk work today. Working on my news for the paper and community newsletter. The rest of the week is filled with practices, games, bake sale. And STILL waiting for the bank to decide if we are still farmers or not. THAT is very frustrating.

Got two sick kids at home,

Got two sick kids at home, one that isn't sick yet, and sent one off to school. They aren't throwing up sick. Just sore throat/upset tummy sick. DS6 is already asking to play PS2. LOL!

Feeling down today. Don't know if I'll do too much. Kitchen is cleaned up, house is holding itself together alright.

All alone?

Come on girls! I'm feeling lonely over here!! LOL!

Not too much done yesterday. Busy caring for sickos (dh came down with it too. He's more important to care for than the children, he's not allowed to take any days off the first 6 months of work!). I think I'm going to come down with it, too. Throats a little scratchy, kinda stuffy.

Desk work today. Need to take out and file away all of 2008 stuff, gather tax things (will have to turn all that in real quick. Taxes due March 1!), sort out bills, balance checkbook. All kinds of fun stuff in store for me today. Whoohoo.

Have a good one!

I'm around my dear! Many

I'm around my dear! Many bugs going around out here too - my throat is scratchy right now. Hope you guys are better real quick.

I haven't even thought about taxes yet - yuck. Hate that.

Maintaining mostly at home - maybe I'll tackle something bigger this weekend - I know DD has a lot of crap in her room that I could plow through!

See ya!

Hope we ALL get better soon, Andrea!

Yesterday, I got a ton of desk stuff done. Of course, there is always plenty more to do, LOL! I had forgotten about dd11 class bake sale when I posted yesterday, I made a double batch of banana bread muffins and a batch of cupcakes. I'll be working that today.

DH is off, but not home yet (and he better hurry, I requested breakfast burrito for breakfast from a truck stop on his way home). I have to be at the school at about 10 for bakesale (done around 1 or so by the time I get finished counting the moneybox). Kids all have bb practice tonight. Dinner simple, like burgers I think.

Morning Everyone!
Still feeling kinda crappy, but I think I'll survive.
gosh that breakfast burrito sounds great Jenny! I lived on those in Texas - Taco Cabana - yum! I loved the bean, bacon, and cheese one. Yes I gained 15 pounds in 1.5 years.

Maintaining with laundry. HOpe to get my bathroom cleaned after work. I am realizing that it is really bugging me that my scrapbooking is not caught up. I might try to focus on that this weekend. It's just been sitting out for so long and I am sick of it!

Have a good day everyone!
Andrea

You do NOT want to see my

You do NOT want to see my scrapbooking todo list! Been years since I touched it. I'll get around to it someday...

I'll tell ya, Andrea. Texas food is goooood! We are so close to Texas we kinda consider ourselves more Texans that New Mexicans.

DD11s friend stayed the night last night. She has been spending so much time here lately, wonder if I can claim her on my taxes? LOL!

Kitchen is cleaned up. LR needs a bit of a pickup, but it isn't too bad. 5 kids in the house, I kinda get too lax about it. They are just going to mess it up again. We have ball games tonight to cheer (and dh is running the clock). Ballgame in morning to play (dh is working at fire dept). Kinda being lazy today. It's 73 outside, may go out and enjoy that some.

Jenny

Oh wow - 73 is a total

Oh wow - 73 is a total fantasy for me! Who am I kidding - 50 would be a fantasy!

We have no games this weekend - it will be a nice break - we are thinking of catching a movie and dinner in "the city" tomorrow -

Luv the tex-mex Jeny - nothing better! We used to go out for a leisurely Sat. am breakfast at the mom and pop Mexican "diners" - yum!!! With a tall glass of iced tea with lots of ice. Most people were drinking the sugary sodas - red something or other - can't remember.

Ok, no scrapping happening yet. Maybe tomorrow.
Andrea

As predicted, nothing

As predicted, nothing productive yesterday. Got in about 9pm from games last night.

Andrea, if you thought 73 was nice, today it's supposed to hit 76! Maybe the groundhog didn't see his shadow here? LOL! 80% chance of rain tomorrow, I'd appreciate some prayers that it happens. Haven't had any rain since October or November (been so long, don't even remember!).

Oh, and I can't stand drinking coke with mexican food. Iced tea with lots of sweet n' low! Was that sugary soda called Big Red? Hubby likes it, no thanks for me.

I need to make my menu/grocery list this morning. Girls have a game in town at 10:30. I haven't been to the store in over a week! I may run up to bigger town and see dh at work. And the shop called last week, sewing machine is fixed, need to pick it up.

Yes i think it was Big Red.

Yes i think it was Big Red. Never really drank it myself. I did prfer iced tea also with some sort of sweetener. Ok i am getting hungry now!

Off to church - hope to get some scrapping done today.

Hi Guys I have been lurking

Hi Guys

I have been lurking a bit and wanted to start posting again. It has been a rough last few months so I have been scarce around here but feel ready to jump back in now.

I lost my dad in November and my husband lost his mother in October so we have been a little numb here to say the least. I have started subbing again and getting back into the swing of things so here I am.

Tomorrow I am subbing so no flying Monday but I will post PODAs and TADAs this week. Glad that you all are doing well. Have a good night.

just checking in

My facebook has consumed me. I thought I better check in here so you all don't forget about me!! I am loving this weather!! It was 76 here all weekend. We have a 4 day week this week and next. DD busy with cheer. They have a talent show at school that she and her friend have been working on. Her Monday Coach mixed them some music, so now their counts are correct and not so choppy. They tryout on Wednesday, so I hope they make it. We have a couple of competitions coming up so we hope to stay well around here. I had 5 kids out sick in my class. One for over a week. DS baseball is getting ready to start up. Not looking forward to being in two places at once. Decided not to do the Monday bible study. Didn't really click with anyone. Anyway, I don't have time for me! I am too busy taking care of everyone else and I am ok with that!

Cut my loses over the weekend and took all the laundy to the laundrymat! There is one in town that was really nice. One hour. Done! Gotta love that.

Jenny, you haven't sounded like yourself lately. Hope everything is ok!

Have a great night, I am off to watch something on Tivo and grade some papers.

jennye's picture

Heidi, I'm so sorry for you

Heidi, I'm so sorry for you losses. The holidays had to have been rough for your whole family. Hope we can get you back in the swing of things.

Linda, thanks. It's been wierd here lately. Bunch of financial BS, many things up in the air. We are just really stressed out right now.

Put up with DH the last couple of days on his days off. LOL! We have been blowin and goin it seems. Things may be looking up on the sale of the ranch, so we have been looking at houses to buy (we had thought we would build on the farm, but due to circumstances with the economy and farming, have decided instead that maybe we should move to town. See, crazy around here!). And there just isn't alot of variety around here. But anyway, I really need to do some decluttering and at least get some boxed up stuff out of the house and into the barn. And of course there is always paperwork and bills. I'm upset that all the tax papers we need aren't here yet. I have to get the stuff to the CPA next week in order to have them done on time. Well, at least I think we are getting money back, and if so the IRS doesn't care if it's late. But if you owe, it BETTER be postmarked by March 1st. Ugh.

Had ball game for DS6 last night (we won, no thanks to him. He's so funny to watch!). Practice every night this week. Games all day saturday (1 to play and 2 to cheer).

It's Me Again, Margaret...

Very sorry for your loss Heidi. Glad you're back, though. I was also gone for a long time--still have some trouble keeping up!

Jenny...good luck with the ranch sale. Moving to town? That would certainly be a big change for you. What a decision.

Had an appointment this morning to see about getting medical assistance. I was so proud that I had the presence of mind to fill out all the forms and gather all the other documents they needed. They sent me home with more forms. Next week is my appointment at the social security office. I swear I am "this" close to just climbing under the covers.

Jenny-DD finished her valentines last night. Her party is Friday. The middle schoolers don't get any parties at all anymore. They are too old or too cool I guess! LOL. I'll gladly ship the snow out your way too!!

Hi Guys...Have a good day

Heidi

jennye's picture

Wouldn't you know it that

Wouldn't you know it that the day we get to sleep in not only am I up early, but the child that is the hardest to wake up on school mornings was also up early! LOL!

Heidi, DD11's 6th grade class didn't have a party, but DID do a small gift exchange (which I thought was crazy. However, we got the person she drew a small box of chocolates. She received a small stuffed animal). DD9's 4th grade didn't do a party but had a choice to exchange cards (which I think most did). For DS6 Kinder. class, they had a party and voted to watch Cars (again).

Bring on the snow! We got 0-10% chance of precip the next 10 days. At least the highs will be in the 60s.

DH is working, and I guess I'll do all the stuff I have said I'm going to do all week and haven't. It's amazing on how plans change in just a few months. If we sell this ranch, we may be downsizing homes (from 2200 sq ft to 1800) instead of going bigger as we had though (to 2600). Will be hard, but will be wisest and nearly debt free! Still, hard to decide what would go? And where to start. LOL!

BB practice tonight. I'm so glad it's the weekend. 4 day weekend! Whoohoo!! Usually no school on Monday means making up for it the following Friday, but they gave us that off, too (sleeping with a board member may have it's advantages! LOL!). So next week is just a three day school week. Mom, stepfather and grandmother flying out next Thursday from ATL, will be fun (and busy with all the kids BB games to play, cheer, and play some more).

Jenny

No special plans here. DDs have a bb game at 12:30, then dd11 has a game to cheer (me to coach) at 3 and both girls and myself another at 5:30 or so. DH is running the clock at the games. And whenever we get done with that, going to inlaws for dinner (it's MIL's birthday tomorrow). Guess those are special plans, just not romantic ones. LOL!

decluttered the laundry room today. threw away some boxes and other junk, boxed up a couple boxes of outgrown kids clothes. Also straightened up the pantry in kitchen. One garbage bag of stuff out.

I last posted on Friday and

I last posted on Friday and no one has had anything to say since? Say what!?

Ok, I haven't been up to much flying. Friday was filled with practice and some basic picking up (though one couldn't tell it now, really). SIL came to town so spent the rest of the evening at inlaws. Saturday: ball games (3 of them) and back to inlaws. Sunday didn't go anywhere, just vegged around with DH.

Now he's working today, girls spent the night at inlaws since no school today.

I have lofty goals today:
*bills
*tax stuff (see if I got everything then need to make appt with CPA)
*change sheets on all beds (always hard for me. I hate climbing on top bunks to do this)
*DS6 game tonight
*get groceries (haven't been since last Saturday. Now out of milk and bread, so at least get those)

Two important things going on this week. Actually, all on thursday. Guy coming to look at the ranch to buy (from CA. His THIRD look. Bringing the wife this time!) and my mother, stepfather and Gram all coming for a visit from GA. So really have to get the house looking goooood.

Is it summer yet?

So sick of this weather. I think I have the seasonal depression thing. I really want it to be sunny and warm. We had a few days to tease us and that was it. I pulled weeds in the yard the size of trees. We need to resod the front and back from the pool, so weeds have filled in. Yuk. I actually had to get the shovel to get a few out!

Heidi, I hope you are hanging in there! That is a lot to handle all at once.
Jenny! Woohoo, good luck, sounds promising!! I would love to downsize to my own apartment!!

DD has her Talent Show tonight. She and a friend are tumbling together. They had to try out and it was a train wreck, so I am glad they made it. Friend doesn't cheer and DD was a little stressed over her "commitment"!! Well, friend went home sick from school yesterday, so hopefully DD won't be performing all alone.

Tomorrow is early dismissal and end of 6 weeks. 2 more six weeks to go!! Counting down the days. Haven't decided what I am going to do next year. DH thinks I am under too much stress and should stay home and do laundry!! Unfortunately, we do need to eat!! I do enjoy having summers off and I heard that next years group is really sharp.

Looking forward to spring break!! Hope to go to the beach if it is habitable!! We got the new roof, but they are supposed to be fixing the siding. I hope it dried out inside and there is not mold! Whatever, it will be hurricane season again soon!

jennye's picture

Morning girls! Linda, you

Morning girls! Linda, you are going to love that pool this summer! Good luck to DD on the Talent Show!

That's interesting news on the Hot Wheels. But how can you keep a boy from playing with one to keep it mint? LOL!

I'm ready for summer. Or at least mid-late spring. It hasn't been cold much, and no snow (dang it, we need the moisture!). But the wind has blown the last couple of days and I really hate the dust storms. Wrecks havoc on freshly vacuumed floors and window sills.

Well, today is the day that 1) prospective buyer coming by from CA for his third look, and bringing his WIFE this time; and 2) my mother et al are coming this evening from GA. Yesterday was spent doing ALOT of cleaning. But really, no sense in doing alot too soon because it's going to get messed up again. LOL!

TADA:
LR/DR carpets shampooed (and they look goooood!)
bathrooms cleaned (even DH's shower, which I try to avoid at all costs)
kitchen all clean
2 loads of laundry down
finally put away my Christmas china that has been in the china cabinet hutch
dusted

This morning I have a few boxes to move to the barn, some trash to take out to the pit. A little picking up to do outside. run the vacuum thru the house real quick, and the house will be ready to show! Of course, they will only glance thru the house quickly, I'm sure they are more interested in water tanks, barns and fences.

After they leave I need to make a lasagna, run to town for a couple of groceries (buttermilk for my grandmother to make me biscuits tomorrow and wine for dinner tonight). Take care of bills and check some figures on tax stuff (was going to meet with cpa today, but had to cancel that due to realtor coming).

GO team GO!!

Your lists are making me jealous. I had a meltdown on Friday and cleaned the downstairs. The maids came on Wednesday. I must have done a good job cleaning, so they completely organized my pantry. They must have tossed out expired stuff, because it is pretty skeletal in there! I wish I could have an office area downstairs instead of my dining room table. That slowly gets junked back up with school stuff.

Third look!! Good luck Jenny. Sounds like this is the one. No one looks 3 times and doesn't buy!

julhome's picture

Good luck Jenny!

Hope it went well...can't wait to hear.

Worked at chocolate shop Valentine's Day evening. Next day was my birthday, and I had a complete panic attack and had to skip out between Sunday School and Church. Blew off real estate altogether this week until my floor time this morning. Cable on the verge of being shut off. Blackberry not working right--long story short, cancelled the browser, using old phone, will save a bit of cash on that.

Ugh.

Much to do at home in the way of decluttering. Did some rearranging already.

Later.

I'm on a roll. I have fixed three plumbing problems this week. Did a load of laundry yesterday. Not much else done. Had ball game yesterday, dh worked.

Today as soon as dh gets home from work we are all going to church (haven't been in a month!). This this afternoon need to go to a music rehearsal thing to take pictures (I take pictures of the performers for their program).

Have a nice Sunday! Especially you Andrea! Take it easy! (supposed to be in the 80's here this week, wanna come down for a visit? LOL!)

Hi everybody!

So I figured out what I need for this Real Estate quandry...I need a partner that doesn't panic and freeze up when it comes to getting on the phone. I can do the info gathering and marketing and such--just need a front man. I can even show houses...just need someone who can push through the bottleneck that is ME!

Good news...got health insurance through the assistance office. Have to pay a small premium each month, but I am sooo happy to do that. Now my doctor can do the testing that she's been wanting to, and I can get the mammogram I put off, and I can find a new psychiatrist to work with, and...and...and...

Jenny--you sound like your spirits are up a bit, I hope that's the case. Now we just need that buyer to sign on the dotted line!

Enjoy your Sunday, Andrea. As soon as I get done with floor time here, I'm going home to tackle my PODA. It ain't pretty!

Julie, I don't think I could

Julie, I don't think I could be a real estate agent. Like you, I could do the basic info and gathering (though the technical numbers confuse me, like banking stuff). I could maybe show a place. But as far as be "pushy", don't think I could. Glad you got the insurance!

Andrea, I would trade my 80's for snow. Once again, we didn't get any this year (and as far as rain goes, about 1/4 of an inch since last October). But you may as well come on over and have some mexican food and margaritas! LOL!

No flying yesterday except I kept the kitchen clean. Spent 5 hours at the school for the music practice taking pictures; will do more next week, too.

I WILL do my weekly blessing this morning. Also must write the monthly newsletter for our village (did I tell you that the newspaper in town cut me off. They still wanted the information, just didn't want to pay me for it anymore. I'm glad the village clerk and I started our own newsletter and blog a few months ago).

Also must sew dh's name on the back of his bunkergear (that's his firemans coat, which is quite dirty and smokey smelly. Can't wash it here, though. They have a machine at the firestation that can handle it). Think I'll do one load of laundry (I've been staying on top of that!).

Ball game tonight for DS6. DH is out plowing. Need to run to town and sign tax returns (getting money back, thank goodness!).

Major declutter news: DH called a junk guy to come take a look at all the junk we got with this place (about 60 years worth). They do all the work, loading and hauling. We get 20% of what they make off the scrapiron, which they estimated to be maybe $2000 for our share. Very cool!! We really didn't want to mess with it because 1) it was never our junk, just here when we moved here and 2) wonder how many rattlesnakes are in all that junk. LOL!

Jenny

Andrea's picture

Yay! A tax return and junk

Yay! A tax return and junk money. Good news all around! I still need to do our taxes - no idea if we will owe or not.

Went out with a friend last night - fun! A gal I met on FB who actually lives down the street from me!
DH made dinner and I ate when I got home.

Not much tonite - DS has basketball so dinner will be all discombobulated.
Other than that just maintaining -

See you!

Just maintaining here, too.

Just maintaining here, too. Got the place picked up and vacuumed yesterday, one load of laundry done (but not folded), but that was about it. Town twice: once to sign the tax returns, the other for DS6 basketball game. I tell you what, nothing is funnier than watching kids K-2 play ball! LOL! We are 5-1, and that one game we lost was just by 1 point! (my son, however, didn't help much with any of games. He's what is so funny to watch! LOL!).

DH is working today. Not sure what I'm going to accomplish. Maybe go thru some paper piles around/in the desk. I DO need to go to town and get some mineral at the feed store, then go feed the cattle and dump the mineral out there. Also need groceries pretty badly, so need to plan menus and a list. The feed store is having a 50-75% off sale on clothes, going to check that out, too. Me and DS6 need jeans pretty bad.

cheerleading and more

Went to the competition this past weekend and came in second. DD was very disappointed. Lost first by .013 points. Off to San Antonio this weekend and then the season will be over. I don't like going out of town two weekends in a row. Really throws off my flying around here.

I am so sick of this cold weather. One day of nice just to tease me. Finally have this whole pool chemical thing worked out, so ready for warm weather. House is just in maintaining mode. Going to the laundrymat every Sunday makes a huge difference. So much for that luxury washer and dryer that isn't worth the aggravation. DH says I need to get service here, but they charge so much just to look at it. In two hours at the mat, I get of loads washed/dryed/folded/hung up and put away, and can sit and read a book while it is going.

DD was supposed to have surgery during spring break, but was cancelled until April. I guess she will miss a week of school. That now frees up spring break. I told DH I want to go somewhere where I don't have to worry about the state of this house. I am not sure the beachhouse will even have electricity by then. Hate to spend the money though after all these expenses with out of town cheer.

Still haven't gotten my taxes together, Jenny, I am jealous. I need to get that done especially after last years mess. Hope you hear of an offer soon. What IS taking them so long!!

Good morning! 2nd place

Good morning!

2nd place isn't bad, Linda. I know she is disappointed, though. Hope her surgery isn't anything too serious. You are going to have so much fun with that pool this summer! Oh, and as for my taxes, you have nothing to be jealous about if you are talking about me having them done already. Farmers are required to have theirs in by March 1st (since that was a Sunday, then the 2nd). Otherwise I would probably be waiting to get them done a bit longer. LOL!

Did I do any flying? No. I got a load of laundry done, but still not folded. I was busy running to town and feeding cows. Then last night at bb practice, some of the moms and myself dressed out and played against the girls (and kicked their butts). So, the losers (5-6 grade) had to play the 3-4 grade boys, and again got their butts kicked. But we (the moms) had fun anyway. I wonder if the moms would like to get together and learn a cheer dance and do the same thing for cheering?

Oh, and while feeding the cows, there were 7 new ones, a week old or less. One was still wobbly legged. So cute!! Almost a shame to think they will be hamburger in a couple of years. LOL!

Today. Hmmm. I need to bake cookies and cupcakes for a bakesale tomorrow for the varsity cheerleaders. Also, bought 15 pounds of ground beef on sale yesterday, need to cook/bag and freeze that. Need to fold that laundry. I would really like to work outside some, water the lawn, clean up a couple of spots where the sand has really blown in this winter.
