Not much to report here -
Hope to do some vacuuming tonite in between ortho appointment and Girl Scouts and exercise and making dinner! We'll see!
Andrea
I worked the bake sale at school today (to benefit the Varsity Cheerleaders. Always need money for hospitality room, cheer camp, state tourney expenses, uniforms, new mats for tumbling. Made $391). Haven't done much else flying. It's blowing bad out there today. Oh, did fold both those loads of laundry yesterday, and cleaned the kitchen last night before bed AGAIN! Did some yardwork, too. I crashed on the couch at 8:30 and slept all night. Guess I was tired. DH DID manage to get everyone to bed without me. There is hope for him yet.
I should do SOMETHING. Since DH took DS3 to get parts for the swather. Can't believe I'm home ALONE! Wow. This only happens once every few months. Wow. It's QUIET here.
We have ball practice tonight. I need to shave my legs before. Because I'm NOT wearing sweats again, too dang hot.
TGIT. Kids can stay up late tonight and watch a movie with us.
I need to pack for tomorrow, but am too tired. DH ordered pizza (woohoo) DD and I just got back from manicure/pedicures. I think I am going to go to be early and pack in the morning.
Jenny, you make me tired just reading what all you get done in a day!!
Hi All!
I bet your fingers and toes look pretty Linda! I am still a ways off from wearing flip flops (or shorts Jenny!) so am not bothering right now! Have a fun trip!
Jenny, I am trying to do just 20 minutes a day of different DVDs I have. I ran out of time yesterday though!
Tonight I hope to tan, clean my bathroom, and exercise. Chinese for dinner -
Linda, good luck at the competition this weekend! I'm sure they will walk away with first!
I AM going to tackle my desk today. Need to figure out the month's bills. And major declutter. Cuz if we sell this place, then I have to MOVE all this crap. LOL!
Also have parent-teacher conferences today. DD11 has practice for a dinner theater she is in at school as well (will do both those activities at the same time). And both girls have basketball practice tonight. DH is working, so no big deal.
AND, I want to get out the pressure washer and tackle the front porch. Maybe clean some windows? Depends on the weather. Even though it's been in the 70's/80's, the wind has been blowing 30-50mph. Not too much fun out there.
Load of laundry going now. So glad it's Friday. I think tomorrow after the girls ball game we are running down to Lubbock for a quick trip to look at something.
I had TOO much fun with the powerwasher yesterday! Cleaned the front porch off, then worked on the back patio. Only got it half done (and I'm sure much will be undone today as the wind is howling). Did the parent-teacher conferences (DD9 straight As, DD11 5 As, 2Bs, and DS6 doing very well with Es and Ss). Had ball practice last night (us 3 moms played the 7 girls that showed, and moms won yet again).
One girl stayed the night. I need to get them up and fed/showered then off to town for our game. Last game of city league, we (the moms) are taking the coach and girls out to pizza hut. We still have two tourneys, but those are for little dribbler league (mostly the rural schools). Then we are going to head over to Lubbock for some househunting (doublewides).
Thanks for the well wishes. It's 67 degrees here today, which has me doing a happy dance, but also not happy enough for shorts yet! Who am I kidding...I haven't gone beyond capris in public since forever.
Finishing floor time, then going to the Y to hit the pool. Friend is gearing up for a yard sale, so I'm gonna try and round up some stuff too.
Things have been busy as usual with DS and with my school. DS is down for a nap (at 3:30! daylight savings time + sick kid (eye infection)= weird sleep schedule), and I want to get the living room straightened up but first I am going to have my cup of coffee and websurf a little.
I figured out that Sam's personality is such that, instead of 15 minutes at a time the Flylady way, I have to do one minute at a time and then go rescue him from some mischief! Jenny, he reminds me a lot of how you described Chance at his age (he'll be 2 a week from today). Now that I've figured out the one-minute rule, things are a lot easier.
Julie, that's pretty warm for up there this time of year, isn't it?
Becky, just when you have the kid schedule figured out, they throw you for a loop! LOL! Hope his eye infection clears up quickly.
Hope everyone had a great weekend! We were barely home between the ball game (we finally won a game!), pizza party afterwards, then down to Lubbock for some shopping (window shopping, anyway). Yesterday we ditched church (I was NOT going to try to get up 4 children when we didn't get in til after midnight + daylight savings. LOL!). But spent the afternoon taking pictures of singers for the annual music things program.
Today, I have to download and edit said singers TODAY and burn the program guy a disk. REALLY need to sweep and mop the office and kitchen (they look horrible after last week's sandstorms). And doing some praying, the prospective buyer is SUPPOSED to give us an offer this week. I need to do a weekly blessing and work on laundry, too. DS6 has a bb game tonight, dd11 has play practice right after school. DH started his firefighter school today (will last 10 weeks, plus he works his shift days, too). So we won't be seeing him much til about when our school is out. I'm hoping to get alot of things done around here. Really wierd for me to have him working semi-normal hours (7-5, plus the 45 minute one way commute).
Hey Everyone -
Hope the offer is a good one Jenny! Yes, it must be weird to have DH working normal hours!
Great to see you around Becky!
Hi Julie!
We did pretty well on the house this weekend. Got a lot done - even did some scrapping - I'm about a year behind on DD's book - not sure about DS's but it's not too bad.
Yesterday I spent WAY more time that I had anticipated downloading and editing pictures. As a result, nothing else was done. So, must do housework today. Damn. That's not fun. Maybe if I put on some Hannah Montana or Taylor Swift something upbeat (maybe Metallica. LOL!). Maybe Camp Rock or HSM.
DD came out with a first place title and grand champions for their division. This was an incredible season. House is a wreck after being gone 2 weekends in a row. Running around on errands every night doesn't help either. I will be glad for spring break. We decided we are staying here for the break. Really need that week for regrouping of my sanity. I am going to have downstairs redecorated by a company, never could get this place right on my own. Looking forward to that! However, I need to get these baskets put away!! Finally got a contractor to start on the beachhouse repairs!! Hopefully it will be done by summer. DH added a few extras that I wanted, so I am excited. I need to go pick out granite and quickly decided whether to do laminate or tile. That dang pool is green again!! DH said to just get someone out here, so that is on my list too. However, I am too embarrassed for anyone to come in the backyard and see all those weeds. Pulled a bunch of them, but they came back in droves. Got some weed killer to spray down, but it is supposed to get cold again. Spring please hurry, I need to plant grass!! DS told me that he and DH are going to clean out the garage. Anyone want to take bets on the reality of that one!!
I am going to post my todo list for spring break on a big poster and see how much gets done.
Congrats on the pending offer jenny!! Woohoo! Did you say you were looking in Lubbock??
Boy Linda, ya'll stay busy! Congrats on the cheer win. We were looking at doublewides in Lubbock, not to move there. It's two hours away, but we only have one trailerhouse dealership in the area and they only carry Fleetwoods (which are crappy). We are looking at Solitaires. Guess I'm just trailer trash afterall. LOL!
Oh, and prospective buyers decided NOT to make an offer. I'm pretty depressed and ticked off right now.
I got alot done yesterday. Three loads of laundry, swept and mopped office and kitchen, vacuumed, dusted. Put the front porch and back patios back together after last week's pressure washer cleaning. Fed cows, too. Been to town and back this morning to deposit some money and get a few groceries and dog food.
Have the kids honor roll assembly this afternoon. It got COLD here today, said it may snow a little tonight. Be a good night to have a fire in the fireplace, stay home and be depressed.
Still ticked off and pissed. Can't believe these people led us on for 4 months and didn't make an offer on the place! ARG!!!!! (I need a good scream right about now, but that will have to do I guess). Twice they said they would make an offer, then nothing. ARRRRGGGGGG!!! (that's a little better)
Still cold, no snow. Decided not to mess with the fireplace last night. DH was sore and tired and fell asleep around 9 anyway.
I have a load of laundry that needs to be done today. If it warms up some I would like to clean out my car. Got a notice from the library that I have a DVD out. But I KNOW I turned it in about 6 weeks ago. I vividly remember putting it in the night deposit box along with some books. Library said they got the books, not the DVD. I just KNOW I turned it in.
Don't know what else I'll do today. I'm sure I'll think of something. Clean bathrooms need to be on the list. I'm sure I can find something to organize. LOL!
Highly frustrating Jenny! You've gotta get that stress out somehow girl! I hate when that happens with DVDs.
Hi Linda! Congrats to DD! You've got to show us a video of her squad sometime!
My folks flew in from Montana a couple nights ago. Had them for dinner last night. Busy weekend with a basketball tournament and a game for DS. Applebees breakfast on Sunday - it is a fundraiser - that's about it.
Typical weekend cleaning - though I'm not sure when I will fit it in.
Andrea
How long are Mom and Dad staying, Andrea? This isn't the time of year when they live there, is it?
I managed to sort thru all our movies. I have a few cases with no movies, and a few movies with no cases (and of course none of them match each other). Things that make you go hmmmm. And of course the missing DVD from the library was no where to be found. I KNOW I turned that sucker in anyway.
I soaked some household items in some bleach to get them clean, soaked another in vinager to get it clean. I watched the varsity girls cheer practice (getting ready for state comp.), I helped DDs at basketball practice. Took the girls to the inlaws to spend the night, came home with the boys (who asked to watch I Am Legend). Luckily they fell asleep before the really scary stuff started happening. LOL!
Cold and rain/snow today. Hopefully. Hope we get a frickin' foot of snow (more than likely it will just be flurries. Damn). No plans for the weekend, just staying home with DH and the kids. No games. He works on Sunday, so may get out to church with the kids. I think I'm caught up on laundry (though I do have a couple things to iron). Need to do bathrooms. Still. Some general picking up before DH gets home tonight. Balance checkbook/figure bills, too.
HI All -
Jenny, they usually try to come in the fall and the spring. This time around they will
be here until May 10th, so a couple of months. Enough to catch the end of basketball for DS and the beginning of baseball. Also DD's dance recital on May 9th! They are giving up their apartment
after that so who knows when they will return?
Dang on the house. Hopefully someone will come along soon. I am so excited. The decorators are coming on Wednesday. They are going to spend 3 hours here loading it up with all their stuff and mine. They will leave it and come back on Friday and pick it all back up. I can buy anything or nothing. DH gave me a budget, so I will take pics of anything I like and go look for it cheaper. We have DD banquet today. DH and DS went to the beach to meet the contractor. I looked at tile, but didn't pick any out, will do that this week. I have to have the house clutter free when the decorators come, so that is what I am going to do between now and Wed. I can't wait to see what it looks like. They are doing the entry, living, dining, den, breakfast area and kitchen. Told them the only thing they have to make sure is that DH recliner stays or is replaced with similar. OK, off to clean this place up. Just this kick in the a$$ I need!!!
Wow Linda, have fun with the decorators! Sounds like fun! I'm sure they would take one look at my house and say, "gut it and start over"! LOL!
I attempted to make homemade bread on Friday. I failed. LOL! Saturday I did one load of laundry of stuff DH brought from work, fixed dinner, fixed his lunch and dinner for today, and basically did nothing but watch TV with DH and the kids. Oh, made caramel popcorn that was pretty good.
DH works/has school EVERY DAY this week. He won't have a day off til next Sunday. He left for work this morning and won't be back here til tomorrow night. The kids and I are going to church this morning, I'll get groceries while they are in Sunday School, then back home. Not sure what the day will bring after that. Busy week with basketball practice, DD11 in a dinner theater all week at school, then a bb tourney starting on Friday.
Hi Becky! I can't believe your Sam is 2 either! And I can't believe mine is 12! It's just not right.Love to see pictures.
I'd love to have decorators come to my house too! They would probably get a good chuckle out of what is going on right now!
Let's have a great week everyone! DH is home on his spring break, so I'm hoping he will get some stuff done. We actually cleaned out the gardens yesterday - it was warm and sunny!
Andrea
OMG, Becky! Already!? Proof that they DO grow up too fast!! Wow!
Andrea, hope DH gets stuff done on his week off, too! Do you have a list for him? LOL! We don't have SB til the end of the month. I'm SO ready!
It's MONDAY!!! Everyone ready for the week? LOL!
Yesterday: the kids and I sat down on the computer and printed every child a daily job chart. The boys' are pretty simple: make beds, brush teeth, put plate in the sink, pick up toys. Simple. Girls are the same, plus one unloads DW, clears table and cleans living room, while the other one puts away handwashed dishes, sets table, cleans kids living area. These are taped to their doors. Then we made a weekly chore chart and put it on the fridge. Has stuff like bathrooms, vacuuming, etc. You initial what you did and get "paid" accordingly (money or just something special).
I need to find/buy some stickers or stamps for the daily chore charts. Not so much for the girls but the boys.
Last night we got a good start and the living areas and kitchen were clean before we all went to bed.
Today:
*quicken stuff
*bills
*2 loads of laundry (one is in the dryer now, other washer)
*work on my closet?
*go to feed store for liquid feed trailer
*find skirt for DD11 (for play she is in for school all week. She brought her only denim one and discovered it was too small. Girl needs a brick on her head!)
Jenny, I like your chart! Sounds like a plan. Am doing the mad clearing today. Didn't get much done yesterday. Just made breakfast, so I am clearing those dishes and then am going to sort laundry. Might just go to the laundromat and knock it out. Really need to have dryer looked at just not sure who to call. Landscaper should be here shortly. Pulled 4 more bags of weeds yesterday and put down weed and feed. I am soooo sore!! Ortho appointment will kill an hour today of me just sitting. Fortunately he has a movie theater that we can chill in.
No more computer for today. Too much to do!! Will post later.
Ok, yesterday's plan was pretty much blasted out of here. I decided to run to big(ger) town and get tire fixed, back to smaller town and get oil changed. Back home. Switched to pickup to go to bigger village and get 300 gallons of liquid feed for the cattle. Switched back to expedition, picked kids up from school, back home to get DD11 my Stetson that she didn't tell me she needed for her play that night, back to school, back home. DH was home by then, switched to pickup and filled up liquid feed tubs for cattle, back to school to get DD11 from play.
So as you can see, my ENTIRE day was spent driving. LOL!
Ah, but wait. There's more! Today I need to get ANOTHER 300 gallons of liquid feed. And now that DH showed me how to fill the tubs, I get to feed that myself today.
I'll try to get done the other items on my list, but doubt I'll get much of it done. Think I will put the sprinkler out on the yard so that can at least get watered. Supposed to be 80's today. Afterschool we have cheer practice, night two of play (for reg. school board meeting. DH will be there), then BB practice (poor dd11! She has to do all three!!).

Hi everyone!
I'm a Payroll Flybaby and I've been at it for about 2 months. I love Flylady's system and it's helped me so much! The one thing I'm having a hard time with is fitting in excersize! Is anyone working full-time, keeping house clean, making dinners, grocery shopping, spending quality time with hubby, keeping up with the laundry, AND excersizing?!?!? Please help!
As predicted, yesterday was mostly devoted to getting feed and feeding it to the cattle. I DID fold two loads of laundry and ironed a few things that had been stacking up. Also did some work in Quicken (still need to print some checks before they shut the lights off on me. LOL!). Kids wore us out last night at bb practice, but it was fun. They have it easy, there are 10 of them and only 4 of us moms that help them practice. They can all sub out, we can't!
Today:
*wake kids and get them off to school
*more bills stuff
*another load of laundry (washing now, switch to dryer in a min.)
*water lawn some more (did some yesterday)
*take liquid feed tank back to bigger village's feed store
*bake sale tomorrow, so must make cupcakes and cookies (hmmm, if I run to town and get stuff to make burritos I may do that, too. Not many people signed up for that)
*bb practice tonight
Had a nice day yesterday - had lunch with DH and did a bit of shopping. Take out pizza for dinner so it was a light cooking day. Went for a walk. I really need to start doing the little spring cleaning I do - wash windows, etc. Maybe I can do a couple a day -
Bake sale went well. Made $347, which goes towards the 4th grade field trip (Albuquerque to the rattlesnake museum and zoo, and I think they go to Santa Fe as well to see the Roundhouse, which is the gov't 'round here). It's just a day trip, but they pack alot in it. Didn't get around to getting stuff to make burritos. But did make double batch of banana bread and two batches of chocolate chip cookies.
I'm tired. I want a nap! LOL! DH will be home tonight, kids all have bb practice (and dd11 has last night of her dinner theater). Then tourney Friday, Sat. and Sun (they added Sunday because 60 teams signed up for tourney in 6 different divisions! Ugh). Next weekend is last weekend for bb with another tourney. And people wonder why I'm not signing the kids up for baseball/softball! Ready to stay home (and concentrate on 4-H projects. At least those are HOME projects).
No time to fly, but house isn't too bad. The kids chore charts are working out well so far. Yesterday I rearranged the boys room. DS6 hates his bunk beds, DS3 still wouldn't sleep in his bed, so I made them two seperate beds. They were so happy. DS3 fell asleep in the LR and I moved him to his bed. And he stayed there all night. Wow. That is an amazing feat for him.
I need a coke, then pick up kitchen real quick before getting the kids from school. If there is cheer practice I may have to stay for it.
The decorators came and did my house. Wow! It is truly amazing. They moved my couch the only way I didn't think of to make my den work. Dh chair smack dab in front of the tv. They brought in so much stuff. I am sad that it all has to go back. Their prices are on their accessories are ridiculous. They put a bowl on my breakfast room table that is $250. Took pictures of all the accessories and art and went to Kirklands and bought it all for cheap. They put two really pretty chairs in my den that I want. In the formal dining room, they took my 2 end chairs and replaced them with upholstered parson chairs and put a beautiful flower arrangement. So pretty, I want those chairs too!! (I can make the arrangement) In my kitchen/breakfast room they put a pretty black wine cabinet in a dead zone. Really changed the whole look of my breakfast area. I called them to see if we could make a deal on the stuff I really liked. We will see. Hate to spend the money, but wow what a difference. The furniture prices are comparable to what I have seen elsewhere. I went everywhere yesterday to see if I could find similar and couldn't! DH isn't budging though.
We went swimming yesterday in the pool. Had the guy come and look at it and decided to turn that monkey over to a professional. Also had the sprinkler system put in so now the grass can grow back. We've been busy this week. This house has been in such disrepair since last summer.
Went to the dr. for a little health scare, she said I am fine, but am now trying not to drink coffee so I can go get my blood drawn. My cholesterol is probably high, since I live on a fast food diet and don't exercise. Really need to get my act together around here! I need to start making time for myself but haven't figured that one out. Lazy might have something to do with it. By the time I am done with everyone else, I want to park it on the sofa and watch tivo.
I am taking DD to see Taylor Swift tonight at the rodeo. That should be fun! Always lose my car in the parking lot!!
Glad it's friday. Too bad I didn't sleep in as planned. LOL! Why is it on days I need to get up early I'm hitting snooze, but on days I can sleep in, I rise earlier than school days? LOL!
Wow Linda. Cool you found the accessories for much cheaper. I bet the sprinkler system is nice, too.
My girls would be SO jealous about Taylor Swift! They LOVE her, DD11 can play a few of her songs on her guitar.
Enjoy night out with friends, Andrea!
Will will have THREE ball games tonight (DS6 has 2, girls 1). In a village about 45 minutes away. But we have all morning and most the afternoon. I think we will do our weekly blessing together as a family (minus DH). And put the sprinkler out on the front lawn today. Hope the wind isn't blowing from the north. My windows look horrible from wind blowing our hard water from the sprinkler onto glass. Need to clean those that are affected.
At least 8 hours of bb tourneys today. I'm not here.
Oh, I took apart the girls room to seperate their beds yesterday. We didn't get it put back together yet. Probably tomorrow we can do that. The kids did help with the house. DD9 and DS6 picked up, dusted. DD11 cleaned BOTH bathrooms by herself! This is the day I have been waiting nearly 12 years for: my own set of slaves! LOL!
I need to think about that!! DD is already a clean freak, but DS is going to need help. They came and took all the furnishings away. Brought out all the stuff I bought and looks good. Need to have a garage sale and get rid of stuff. Recovering from Taylor Swift concert. Sat in 3 hours of traffic to get there. Fortunately, we went in the dentist's motorcoach (must be nice)so we had an attached bathroom. DS has baseball practice today. That is all. I am going to run errands and get ready for school to start back on Monday. Boo hoo. Summer is right around the corner!!
I bet Taylor Swift was great. We just love her here!
Lord, I'm TIRED after yesterday! And I didn't even DO anything. Girls won their first game at 8:50am, so we had to be there for their next game at 9:20pm. We killed some time in town: went to library (they insist they never received the overdue item, I insist I did turn it in, my daughter remembered me doing so and witnessed it! I'm going to have to talk to someone in charge I think), ice cream and McDs (and playland), walmart for snacks. Anyway, it was a LOOOOONG day.
Is it bad for me to be glad they lost the second game? Now we don't have to go back today. LOL!
Today:
*resting LOL!
*put the girls room back together (much stuff in the kids living room)
*spend time with DH on his only day off last week and this week.
I'm off to fix some breakfast for him. He worked yesterday and is just getting off right about now. He's coming straight home.
Jenny, I have wished the same thing about DS's games at times! We are now officially done with basketball. They rocked this season - I think their record was 12-1. Emailing the photo to our local paper today.
I am so lame, I did not get any spring cleaning done this weekend at all! Not sure what I did.
Congrats on your boy's team, Andrea!! We are 2-10 right now. I'll just say we are still learning how to work together AND the basics. LOL!
The girls and I went thru all their clothes yesterday. Packed away winter, got a whole bag of outgrown/won't wear stuff (the won't wear stuff was all from various handme downs. That's fine. There are plenty more). Most of the room is put back together. I would really like to shampoo their carpet this week.
I've become addicted to facebook. LOL! Found all sorts of friends from elementary to high school! Much fun!
I AM going to workout today. Just as soon as I find those tapes. I've GOT to get these lovehandles off. Also need to research something for DH today. Not going to do much housecleaning. Kinda pointless on a day like today, very windy. No matter how good the windows and doors are, there is a layer of dirt/sand by each one of them. Going to see dd11 play today, too (they are performing for the elementary today).
Dang it, I facebooked too long yesterday. LOL! Andrea, I'll look you up today. I DID do a 15 minute exercise tape (which I plan on doing again today). Fixed dinner (steak, mashed potatoes, brocolli) AND cleaned it all up afterwards. Our new job charts for the kids are working well. They didn't do everything on their charts, but I'd say over half. I'm paying by the item (a nickle or dime per item I think).
Today: I need to clean out my fridge of science fair projects (dog will be happy with that). Then I need to plan menues and go to town to get groceries. Nearly out of milk, that's never a good thing. LOL! DH is working, and we have ball practice tonight. I've got to get the keys to open the gym at the school for that.
TADA:
cleaned fridge of science fair projects
washed all containers that had contained the projects
got groceries
came home, put it all away
cheer practice after school
basketball practice after cheer practice
Today:
dh wants me to meet him for lunch in bigger town.
need to stop by hobby lobby and get stamps or stickers for job charts
make a cake for music rehearsal tonight (for big lion's club music thing that lasts for 4 days)
basketball practice tonight, too
TADA:
*met dh for lunch
*skipped Hobby Lobby. Decided kids would just need to be happy with the smile faces I draw with a marker
*made the cake, and a brocolli casserole for pot luck thing
*did bb practice
PODA:
*cheer practice (7am this morning. Done, obviously)
*pick up DH's perscription (he just told me this morning he was out)
*phone coop nominating committee meeting (I usually just stay on this committee for the free meal at the local steak joint)
*pep rally for cheerleaders (the reason I'm missing the free meal at local steak joint)
*scrape up an early dinner
*day one of bb tourney
So, I'm not here. Looks like I am, but I'm not. LOL!
Yesterday: a little breezy, but warm. around 70
Today: 20 (wind chill is 3), wind gusting 49mph, snowing
New Mexico weather, changing by the minute! Happy first day of Spring Break for us! LOL!
What did I do yesterday? Oh, that meeting I go for the steak dinner: did it anyway. Took the food to go. LOL! Saw pep rally, fixed dinner (added one more kid that needed a ride to game), went to game (lost), went to Jamboree (dd9 won her guitar. Was totally surprised and happy!), came home and vegged with DH and kids watching tv and reading twilight.
Today: got a fire going in the fireplace. Waiting to see if tourney is cancelled due to weather. I have to feed cows in this, dh is working. They say to expect 3-8 inches. No sense in mopping today. LOL! Was going to go to town to deposit DH's paycheck, but he said he slid off the road 4 times on the way to work, so don't believe I'll venture on the paved roads at all.
DD had a sleepover last night that turned into a 2 day sleepover. DH went to a wedding of someone I didn't know, so let him go solo. He is going to make an appearance and leave. I went window shopping all day today. Bought a cute pair of shoes and some flowers to make an arrangement. Still looking for a deal.
Found out I have high cholesterol, so need to eat healthy. Yea right. I am now starving to death knowing that most of what I eat will probably kill me and leave my children motherless. Finally ate at 4:00. Went to Luby's and had fish, broccoli and squash. I know it was all riddled with butter. I am going to meet with a dietician next week to help me. I don't know how to eat if it isn't from a drive-through. Isn't that pathetic! Who has time to cook? They gave me Zocor to take to lower the cholesterol, so hopefully that will help. I need to exercise too... Sheesh...
Where is everyone?? Usually there are lots of posts in between mine. DH and DS are at church. DD is still at sleepover. I opened the washer to do laundry and there were 2 towels in there. PU. Now I have to run the machine to get the smell out. I swear I am going to buy a whole new set and kick this one to the curb. Don't waste your money on a front loader. Great marketing campaign for a piece of junk. Maybe I will pack up and venture to the laundrymat later, knock it all out and read my book at the same time. I am going to enjoy the piece and quiet a little while longer though since everyone is gone. No plans for today. Nowhere to go!! Yippee...
I'm here Linda!
You have really struggled with the laundry lately!
Pretty good weekend - busy of course. Took a trip up to the city yesterday to get shoes for DS and a few items of clothing for me. Will be returning some of them - don't look as good at home as they did at the store. I did get 4 windows washed - 2 each day. Baby steps!
Morning!
I turn the computer off when DH is home to keep the kids off of it. That way they will spend more time with him. That's my strategy and it works pretty well. He was off Sat. and Sunday, so it was off the entire weekend!
Andrea, no kidding on our weather. We would have had about 4 inches of snow had the wind not blown it all everywhere. That wind was horrible that day! As a result, we had drifts over a foot tall on the sides of the roads and by fences/walls, then open ground was bare. It didn't warm up, but somehow the roads cleared up and we still had tourney, went to town to deposit check, and fed cows (which would have to be done regardless. Unfortunately, that truck runs on propane and the tank ran out on me in the middle of feeding 2 miles from the house. Had to get FIL come tow me home).
Oh, and Andrea, I couldn't find you on FB. Over 500 people with your name! LOL! Mind is a bit less common, so you find me (unless you already did. Haven't checked my email since Friday).
Linda, I'll get you confirmed asap!! We need to get you cookin' at home! I'd be happy to help you out in any way I can in that dept. I cook lots of simple things. When your 25 miles from a drive thru or from delivery, you learn to cook! LOL!
We are on SPRING BREAK!!! And I plan on doing some spring cleaning! Windows, carpets, moving furniture, decluttering! It's going to get done this week! No more basketball, no more cheering. We need to plan our 4-H projects and get busy on those. Wish I had the stuff and knowledge to build me a chicken coop. It takes almost a dozen eggs to fix our breakfast on mornings I choose to do that (which is about once a week or so). I'd like to raise some chickens and have a good breakfast at least 2 times a week.
HI Again -
Jenny, I did find you. Check!! Maybe I can find Linda through you. Great idea re: the puter and your kids.
Yes Linda, you need to get cookin' and stay away from those nasty drive thrus! Jenny has great ideas and I have a few myself as do the other ladies here. Plus there is tons on the internet regarding inexpensive, healthy family meals that taste good! Your family will thank you! Your waistline will thank you! I read several blogs for inspiration - one I discovered recently is Casual Kitchen. Another is Cheap, Healthy, Good. Both full of wonderful ideas.
Linda: don't start thinking that you need to start cooking EVERYTHING from scratch. You'll burn out the first week and give up!!
Just a few suggestions:
*hamburger/tuna helper (my kids LOVE this stuff, and it's easy!)
*pork chops. again, nothing fancy. Just put some on a 9x13 pan, sprinkle with some steak seasoning or lawreys, and bake at 350 for about 30 minutes. I like to make some biscuts (bisquick, frozen, canned, whatever) and stove top stuffing, maybe some applesauce
*burgers. Always good. Use 80/20 ground beef
*use the crockpot! Try this: cut up some boneless chicken breasts, mix up a family sized can of cream of chicken soup, some chopped green onions, 1/4 cup of flour, and a bit of chayanne pepper. Cook on low all day, serve with some rice (use boil in the bag rice if you prefer! Easy!)
*another crockpot: some sort of beef or pork roast with some potatoes and carrots and onion wedges.
*speghetti: brown some beef, throw in a jar of ragu and simmer for a few minutes while you cook up some noodles
Let me know if you want more suggestions! I'd be happy to share some other simple recipes. I don't cook fancy.
TADA:
LOL! Went to town anyway, ran all over town and big(ger) town and found every one of the Twilight books AND went ahead and bought the movie. LOL! It's too windy and dusty to clean anyway. I'll take pictures of my window sills and under more doors and you will understand why. LOL!
Yay Jenny! You will be busy reading! Gotta read those darn books.
Linda - Jenny has some great ideas there! She's right - don't feel like you have to cook it all from scratch.Nobody does that all of the time! Shake n Bake is another easy dinner - pork or chicken. My kids love it. Also, the chicken and stuffing casserole - cream of chicken soup, frozen peas, butter. Google it and I'm sure a ton of recipes will come up. Bean or beef burritos with shredded cheese and salsa. Rice on the side and a simple green salad. Frozen ravioli with jarred spaghetti sauce sprinkled with parmesan. Stir a bag of spinach into the sauce. Yum! That is actually what I'm making tonight. Salad and bread on the side. Ok I'm getting hungry now.
Not much going on today - hope to exercise tonight -
Wind isn't supposed to blow, so I guess I'll try to clean the house today, check cows. Sometime today I need to run to inlaws and pick up DS6, and a friend called and asked if I would like a box of good western jeans (in sizes for both me and DD11!). Need to pick those up.
And try to put New Moon down long enough to do all of the above!
DH is home tonight, need to figure out something good for dinner.
What I also like to make as well if pasta-roni. I make the Alfredo flavor and add some chicken, brocolli, and mushrooms. It's not fully home made, but it has a home made touch to it.
DH grilled me some chicken over the weekend. I am using those steam bags and made asparagus and fresh green beans. I am drinking lots of oj with omega 3. Yum. I can eat Special K with strawberries with 1% milk for breakfast, lunch and supper and be happy. Yesterday I went to my favorite neighborhood restaurant. They are mediterranian, but I always get a burger and fries! Told her I have to eat healthy and they made me a grilled chicken kabob with rice and a cucumber and tomato salad chopped real fine. There was so much left that I was able to take for lunch today. We had an afterschool party for the kids and ate a piece of cheese pizza. DH says you have to cheat sometimes, or you will quit. I think I am making better choices. I am waiting for my waistline to notice the choices!! Exercise is next. YUK!
DD had cheer tryouts today and I was really proud of her. Afterwards I took her shopping for a new outfit. Next door is my new favorite store, so I bought me a new shirt, necklace and earrings.
I do cereal morning, noon and night too, Linda. I LOVE Raisen bran. Can't wait to hear if she made the squad or not!
Wind didn't blow AS bad, the kids and I used some teamwork and got the house clean in 45 minutes: dd11 did the bathrooms, dd9 picked up the floors and dusted, and I vacuumed (including under LR furniture). Didn't mop, but swept the kitchen, laundry, and office (converted garage). Fixed smothered burritos for dinner and cleaned it all up.
AND, finished book two of Twilight series. Not quite as good as the first, but still good. Fixing to start on book 3. Need to do my community newsletter so the village clerk can mail it out tomorrow.
I have the book sitting on my nightstand for a month and have not started it. I think it may have to wait for summer reading! Everyone makes a team, but it is moving up that we want to Level 3. She really wants to be a center flyer. I think she still needs more work, but she is getting there. Now that you see my profile on facebook, you can go on you tube and watch some of their competitions. There teams are incredible.
Totally blew the diet today. We ordered out for birthdays. I ordered a chicken sandwich. Wasn't specific enough and it came with mayo and a white bun. Tasted greasy too. Ate half of it. DD has bronchitis, so I took her to get some mushroom soup at a hibachi restaurant she likes. Ended up getting shrimp and chicken, but also got the garlic chicken fried rice. Fell off the wagon completely. I am going to be really disciplined because I feel super guilty now. Brought half home to eat later, but I think it is going in the trash. Cereal for tomorrow.
HI All -
Yeah, the greasy chicken sandwich would not be worth it to me Linda. Now the Japanese food - definitely! Yum!
Cereal. Hmmmm, might be a good idea for easy breakfast and lunch. I just couldn't face that for dinner.
Not much going on. Went out for dinner with my folks yesterday. Today we have activities after school. Just maintaining. Maybe I will try to clean my bathroom tonight. Exciting life I lead, hey?
Andrea
Linda, I'll have to check those out! I'm anxious to see their cheers, see if there is anything I can borrow from it for my squad next year (hehehe, Bring It On!).
I'm enjoying the kids spring break. Other than dinner and banana bread, I basically didn't do much but read. Oh, but it's so addicting!! LOL!
My MIL is going to come get the girls sometime today so they can have their turn to spend the night. Had to make sure they had nice clothes, it happened to work out that there is a funeral viewing tonight. No other night for them to stay, so they will just tag along. I'll get them in the morning before inlaws have to go to the funeral.
And as long as the house holds itself together, I'm just going to read! LOL! DH is working today, won't be in til tomorrow night. So nothing really pressing to HAVE to do!
Yeah. Guess what I did all day yesterday. LOL! I DID semi tore myself away to watch the final episode of ER (used to be a HUGE fan, but hadn't watched it much the last 2 or 3 years). At least I can say I watched the finale. I did read during commercials.
But today, I HAVE to get some laundry done. DS3 is out of clean skivvies. haha! I have 3 loads to fold, one washing now. Need to go get the girls from inlaws soon, too. Get this house back in order before DH comes home tonight (off tomorrow, works again Sunday). May go see a movie with the family tomorrow. Depends what's playing in our little bitty 2 screen theater in town. Wind is supposed to blow horrible tomorrow. UGH. Better check cows today then.
So much to do today. DH wants to go with me to pick out tile for the beach. He decided he didn't like what I chose. WOW! He also said we need new countertops since our other ones got warped from the dampness. I want granite, but our island is big. I think that would be too much money. Insurance didn't note the counters, so that won't be out of that budget. I need to see how much I have to pay the IRS before I make those decisions. No cheer this weekend. Teams posted online Sunday. Baseball game on Sunday. Really need to fit church in there too.
Today:
Grade papers
prepare for next weeks lessons
laundry
tax papers together to send to acct.
DH hang new pictures.
lay some more sod in the front yard.
pick out tile
oil change in Tahoe
Cook Turkey
TADA
Woke early enough to grade papers in silence.
Got a pallet of sod and laid it in the front yard.
Planted knockout roses, white salvia, begonias, lavendar, lirope, and more in the flowerbeds.
Went to teacher store to buy charts
Ate subway for lunch and special K blueberry with 1% milk for supper
Shopped for tile with DH... didn't agree on any.
The yard took me all day. I would plant and then go back to the home center for more. Feels good to have my front yard back!! I want to go to the quarry tomorrow and get rocks to put in the yard. We have flagstone around the trees, but I don't like it. Don't know if I'll have time to do that before baseball.

Julie, get well
Julie, get well soon!
Andrea, what kind of exercise are you doing?
TGIT. Kids can stay up late tonight and watch a movie with us.

packing again
I need to pack for tomorrow, but am too tired. DH ordered pizza (woohoo) DD and I just got back from manicure/pedicures. I think I am going to go to be early and pack in the morning.
Jenny, you make me tired just reading what all you get done in a day!!
Hi All! I bet your fingers
Chinese for dinner -
See ya!

Jenny

Jenny

Happy Saturday
Thanks for the well wishes. It's 67 degrees here today, which has me doing a happy dance, but also not happy enough for shorts yet! Who am I kidding...I haven't gone beyond capris in public since forever.
Finishing floor time, then going to the Y to hit the pool. Friend is gearing up for a yard sale, so I'm gonna try and round up some stuff too.
Hope the cheering goes well, Linda!
Jul
Hiya all!
Hello Becky!
Great to see you--please pm me with your current email!
Jul
Julie, that's pretty warm
Laters!

I'm outta here!
Andrea

Yesterday I spent WAY more
Yesterday I spent WAY more time that I had anticipated downloading and editing pictures. As a result, nothing else was done. So, must do housework today. Damn. That's not fun. Maybe if I put on some Hannah Montana or Taylor Swift something upbeat (maybe Metallica. LOL!). Maybe Camp Rock or HSM.
Dang. I need a life.

cheer is over for now
DD came out with a first place title and grand champions for their division.
Jenny
http://heresyourtrouble.blogspot.com/
Mornin'. Still ticked off
Mornin'.
LOL!
Jenny

Highly frustrating Jenny!

How long are Mom and Dad

Back to work -
Andrea

that's a bummer!
Wow Linda, have fun with the
Wow Linda, have fun with the decorators!

Sam is TWO!
I can't believe it, but DS is two years old! I felt as thought the day would never come, but it did.
Sorry about the house Jenny.
Hi everyone else.
Julie, I pm'd you just now. Did you get it?
I'm going to try and post pics of the birthday (it was just with my parents, no one else) in my profile or however that works.
Good Morning!
Hi Everyone -
Andrea

OMG, Becky! Already!?
OMG, Becky!
Girl needs a brick on her head!)

still cleaning
Linda, your ortho has a
Linda, your ortho has a movie theater? Wow!

New Flybaby Needs Help
Hi everyone!
I'm a Payroll Flybaby and I've been at it for about 2 months. I love Flylady's system and it's helped me so much! The one thing I'm having a hard time with is fitting in excersize! Is anyone working full-time, keeping house clean, making dinners, grocery shopping, spending quality time with hubby, keeping up with the laundry, AND excersizing?!?!? Please help!
Yay, week's half over!As
Yay, week's half over!

HI Everyone!
Had a nice day yesterday - had lunch with DH and did a bit of shopping. Take out pizza for dinner so it was a light cooking day. Went for a walk. I really need to start doing the little spring cleaning I do - wash windows, etc. Maybe I can do a couple a day -
See ya!

Morning Everyone!
Glad the chore chart is working well Jenny! I really have to get one of those going for my kids.
Typical day today. My goals when I get home are to exercise and clean my bathroom. We are going out for dinner with friends so that will be nice -
See ya!

wow! I mean wow!
Yall have a great day!!
Glad it's friday. Too bad I
Glad it's friday.

At least 8 hours of bb
At least 8 hours of bb tourneys today. I'm not here.
Oh, I took apart the girls room to seperate their beds yesterday. We didn't get it put back together yet. Probably tomorrow we can do that. The kids did help with the house. DD9 and DS6 picked up, dusted. DD11 cleaned BOTH bathrooms by herself! This is the day I have been waiting nearly 12 years for: my own set of slaves! LOL!

yea for slaves
I need to think about that!! DD is already a clean freak, but DS is going to need help. They came and took all the furnishings away. Brought out all the stuff I bought and looks good. Need to have a garage sale and get rid of stuff. Recovering from Taylor Swift concert. Sat in 3 hours of traffic to get there. Fortunately, we went in the dentist's motorcoach (must be nice)so we had an attached bathroom. DS has baseball practice today. That is all. I am going to run errands and get ready for school to start back on Monday. Boo hoo. Summer is right around the corner!!
I bet Taylor Swift was
I bet Taylor Swift was great.

Rise and shine everyone!
We like Taylor Swift too!!
Jenny, I have wished the same thing about DS's games at times! We are now officially done with basketball. They rocked this season - I think their record was 12-1. Emailing the photo to our local paper today.
I am so lame, I did not get any spring cleaning done this weekend at all! Not sure what I did.
Back to work -

Congrats on your boy's team,
Congrats on your boy's team, Andrea!!

Morning.
Morning. Yaaaawwwwwnnn.

Yesterday: a little breezy,
Yesterday: a little breezy, but warm.

Hey guys -
Your weather is so weird Jenny. We have a nice spring day today - 53 degrees right now. I will get at least SOME of my windows done today.

facebook me
Jenny, I did a FB friend request to you!!
Sheesh...
chores
Yippee...
Have a great day everyone!!
Morning Everyone! I'm here
Morning Everyone!
Baby steps!
Have a great day everyone!

Morning! I turn the computer
Off to check email.

HI Again -
Jenny, I did find you.

Linda: don't start thinking
LOL!
Jenny

Yay Jenny! You will be busy
Not much going on today - hope to exercise tonight -
Andrea

Wind isn't supposed to blow,
Wind isn't supposed to blow, so I guess I'll try to clean the house today, check cows.
Jenny
http://heresyourtrouble.blogspot.com/
Boxed Help is good...
What I also like to make as well if pasta-roni. I make the Alfredo flavor and add some chicken, brocolli, and mushrooms. It's not fully home made, but it has a home made touch to it.
not too hungry
Off to watch American Idol on tivo.
I do cereal morning, noon
Jenny
http://heresyourtrouble.blogspot.com/
Twilight
HI All - Yeah, the greasy
HI All -
Yeah, the greasy chicken sandwich would not be worth it to me Linda.
Andrea

Linda, I'll have to check

Yeah. Guess what I did all

Hanging in there...
Cook Turkey
Good luck with all that
Good luck with all that Linda.
Sounds like my weekend -
Check out stainless steel or conrete countertops - or "manmade" marble -
Have a great day!

Let's start a new thread guys!
http://blackcatchronicles1.blogspot.com/
what a day!
