Grout Cleaner/Vinegar???

Hi there,
Love this website. Just found it. So much good information Thank you.
We are stumped. We have a tile floor. It's really beautiful. Made to look like a stone courtyard so there are many wide (half inch to 1 inch) grout tracks. They are a light gray. Where we walk, the grout gets VERY soiled. We have used professional grout cleaners. Fairly successful BUT backbreaking. Two weeks later we are back with the same problem. This question, I know, is from outer space but would some sort of mixture of vinegar and whatever be any good. Then maybe we could put some sort of sealer on it. Any ideas.
Thanks a bunch!

Baking Soda/Dish Soap
I'm not sure about tile floors, but tile in the bathroom responds very well to a paste of baking soda and a few drops of liquid dish soap.
I sounds like your grout is
I sounds like your grout is not sealed. Try sealing it after you clean it next time. You can find grout sealants at home depot or lowes.
grout problem
I have spent the last 6 years cleaning apartments and found that the only thing that will get grout clean enough is a "Mr. Clean Magic Eraser"...it's a lot of work but if you seal the grout as soon as you are done it should stay clean and you need to repeat each year. Just remember next time you put down tile to pick a dark coloured grout...doesn't look so dirty so quickly.
