John and I got one of these this week, and it's the most fun I've had in AGES. There is an in-depth review at Amazon; pay attention to it, because we found his experience echoed ours almost exactly.
These Gotz dolls are high quality dolls with beautiful hair, sweet expressions, and loads of fun accessories. They are made by the company that used to make the American Girl dolls so their clothes are interchangable. Actually the Gotz dolls are a little bit better quality because the hair is planted, not a wig.
My DD absolutley LOVES this, and, more importantly, there's no loose pieces, everything's attached to the board, no little pieces scattered all over the house!
One of the latches is too stiff for her to do herself, but she'll be able to eventually when her fingers get bigger.
